I had to please store management, stay out of customers' way; keep my work area clean, which was a real challenge; and be friends with back door receivers so they would help me when I needed help locating product. But store managers like to use people and they tried to get me to do increasing amounts of tasks that were not my responsibility, such as pricing & organizing clearance items or new product that came in. Beware of being too good of a worker. The very worst thing for me, as a woman in my 40's, was injuring my hands, knees, and back from repetitive tasks, kneeling on hard floors to reach bottom shelves for hours, But worst of all: Lifting 50-75 lbs frequently, and you never know just how heavy the tote was going to be until you already tried to lift it.
