Pros

They gave me free umbrella once.

Cons

Everything much complicate here. The people at top doesn’t care for staffs or client. Make their jobs seems important and doesn’t care about thing they supposed to. Talk down to staffs and act disgust of the clients. Everything be like business show and not for work with people. Hard for us who real care and want to help the people. It feel like you work against own manager and make feel crazy for all these policy. It so confuse all time something new. Do it this and that and change again the next week. Directors not have any skill for real client we work with so nothing make sense how they do things.

Cons

Worked in the HR team for little over 3 months and found the environment and manager to be quiet toxic. The CHRO, maanger for the department, often referred to me as a different employee's name and made excuses for the behaviour. In my interactions with her she often mispronounced other management employees names incorrectly as well, despite being corrected multiple times. The employees whose names she mispronounced were often ethnic, non western names, do with that information what you will. There are 3 tiers to her HR team: administration, specialists, and generalist/analyst. From day 1 it was very apparent that she had created a hierarchal team. The top of the ladder were allowed work from home privilege's while all other positions were required to be in office full time. This made little to no sense as most of the team interacted via zoom/team's for almost all meetings. She often made the argument that she wanted to create a closer team structure, but in fact has created the opposite. Many discussions happen behind closed doors between herself and the generalist and analyst while all other positions work beneath those levels and are only involved as needed. Little to no room for career advancement. She has stated that there is a succession plan already in place. The advancement of your career will be directly tied to how much you can grovel at her feet. CHRO has an old school approach to HR and is set in her ways, does not react well to feedback about her management style. She once rejected a candidate because they were wearing a business casual sweater to an interview while the other candidate wore a suit jacket. Has very strong implicit bias to her selection process and will not take feedback to change. The last comment I will make is that the manager often will say that she is a hands off style manager, but in reality she is just too busy to micromanage every detail of your work. If she had the ability to micromanage all aspects of her team, she would. If you are planning to apply for any HR position be prepared to work for someone who is extremely hypocritical, does not take well to feedback, will not give you feedback on standards then micromanage your work as is fails, and is incredibly DEI ignorant.
