Pros

Good work life balance, for the most part.

Cons

Sharper learning curve, but that was most likely due to personal reasons.

Pros

Data and publications sold to another company. Just advisory services remain at PLS. They're good advisors, probably among the best in the business, so if you want to buy or sell some oil and gas property, use them. Woman who company was going to get a restraining order against to protect 15 employees still not heard from. Either left the area or is heavily medicated. Nicer offices post-Harvey. Out of the congested Galleria area and easily accessible to a Torchy's Tacos. CEO more pleasant now that he's free to focus on advisory and not micromanaging data and content. All kinds of snacks but they need the good mini-muffins- a particular employee demands it. Mood in office is calmer, more relaxed. I think it's being able to see treetops that helps, just mellows people out.

Cons

Sold-off businesses still in office, not a physical separation at this time, so same a-holes still around the office. Big fish little pond syndrome. Everyone thinks they're fabulous. We have a guy now who just started a few months ago trying to take over a department that he knows nothing about. Comical to watch but annoying if you have to exert time and energy dealing with this person. Uncertain future for sold-off businesses. No one has heard what the intention is post-buyout. Person in charge who could help alleviate situation worried about own job so has been secretive. Meanwhile you have 50+ employees being told "business as usual" until... The last few glowing reviews were probably induced with a bonus of some kind. Probably no hiring at the present time while the company goes through this operational transformation.
