Very poor management

Pros

Friendly people with a ready-to-help attitude, dynamic markets, important growth, no traffic/parking issue, access to free products, couple of staff events, fitness room

Cons

Bad working process issued by people ignorant of modern management best practices (in matter of communication, transparency or accountability), creating a toxic environment and demotivating staff in their efforts to deliver their best work. There is no people management, barely contract management. There is no HR skills in-house, it is supervised by Legal. There is no good internal communication other than couples of emails and rumors. In 2020, we could do better. Very vertical and rigid hierarchy. It is a family owned business and that excuse is often used to explain the process troubles but there is still a big management issue. Top managers do micromanagement and do not truly empower their employees, giving the feeling they have no trust for anyone. Decisions are erratic, can literally changed from one day to another. Middle management is in general not supporting employees and stay silent when finger-pointing is done. Some are only focused to please the CEO, say what he wants to hear while others gave up to share their feedbacks and now waste their talent and jeopardize the long-term future of the company. Ultimately the people sticking around don't take anymore risks to improve things and the company get stuck with old methods. Beyond the dressing code, the strict working times, the non-competitive salaries for a Luxembourg based company, the no-coffee/no home-office policy, the 1-day vacation reward for not being sick (and blaming indirectly the ones who were), you have the feeling to be treated as a kid and not as someone able to deliver his work the way he considers the best. From there, you can understand that the complete corporate culture has failed. The result? People turnover is high: in the last year, around 15 people left on a total of 75, most of them without notice. No communication is done about this aspect, demonstrating the inability to face the real problems. That turnover should set off some alarm but still nothing happens. I really wonder if Management is blind or really believe employees are satisfied. Some will say we are ungrateful because we can enjoy a couple of staff events and get some free products but that’s a joke. It’s not about gifts, it’s about manners and trust. Exemplary behavior should come from the top. And currently, nothing is done or showed to improve that culture. If you still consider to apply, prepare at least your questions and challenge your interviewer with flexibility aspect, process, people turnover, degree of independence, etc. There is a big challenge to join this company that comes along with a lot of frustration if you are ambitious for your career. And again, we talk about employee career, not being distributor! The positive reviews are very suspicious when not made by independent distributors who are not working as full-time employees in the premises and don’t know the work conditions in the HQ.

Pros

Few things are starting to improve, but with very slow pace and great delay.

Cons

- The company grows fast and has still no structural organization, resulting in a complete chaos. - Company has no corporate strategy and defined goals. Employees should be very flexible to adapt in continuous changes of priorities and work in many different directions at the same time. - Employees' hard work is not recognized by higher management. - Working hours are not flexible. - No prospects for further professional development and progression. - Working environment can sometimes behave unprofessionally. - There is substantial lack of communication both between different departments and within the same department. This often leads to extra unnecessary work. - Daily work is not engaging. Very often employees face trouble coming from company's malfunction and narrow-mindedness of management, resulting in frustration, total lack of motivation and a toxic working environment. - Management of workload is very ineffective. People in charge may not have managerial skills. - Although the lingua franca is English, in some departments German is the spoken language. Thus, the integration of a non-German speaker can be extremely difficult. - The free products that employees can order on a monthly basis are restricted only to a very narrow range, while in the past one could choose the products they like from the whole portfolio. It is not accidental that the good reviews come either from team partners or other questionable sources...It is at your own risk to accept a job offer!

Pros

You won't have to starve

Cons

This place is toxic. You'll find all the bad things you know you don't need in your life. Just name it, low key racism, low key sexism, nepotism, micro management from your superior, the management refusing to take any responsibility whatsoever. If you don't speak German, they're going to male sure that something is wrong with.
