Pros

The company offers a good vacation and sick leave policy, which provides some flexibility. The salary is average for the industry—not exceptional, but not under market either.

Cons

The organizational structure of this company is distinctly top-heavy, with an overabundance of senior leadership roles contributing to a lack of agility and direction. Major projects are routinely assigned go-live dates before any formal planning, kickoff meetings, or allocation of technical resources. This backward approach inevitably results in staff working unsustainable hours under intense pressure—only for deadlines to be missed anyway. There is a clear and troubling pattern of disregard for employee well-being and institutional knowledge. Leadership has, time and again, chosen to lay off high-performing, experienced technical staff—only to replace them with overseas contractors in an apparent cost-cutting effort. This short-sighted cycle has repeated itself over the years, each time weakening the company’s capabilities and morale. Despite consistent project failures and turnover, leadership shows little willingness or ability to learn from past mistakes. The overall environment is defined by poor planning, weak communication, and a culture that doesn't value its employees. Joining this company is like boarding the Titanic: it may appear impressive from a distance, but it’s headed toward disaster—and the leadership team is too busy rearranging deck chairs to notice.

Pros

No one to challenge your technical knowledge, or lack thereof. Lots of career opportunities cause people are scared to move up in the organization.

Cons

Management has run off knowledgeable employees, looking for yes men and women. No one wants to apply for a leadership job cause there is constant micro management over constructive culture surveys, which one bad direct report can get you dismissed from your role. Salaries have not increased per the market trends. I could make 20-40k more money working for one of the project management contractors that work for PPL and honestly do all the work for the company, but management has a policy that you can not work on property for one year after you separate from PPL. They hold individuals hostage with low pay and poor company culture. Also the IT system is the worse ever, there were more features and better access when I joined the company.
