Pros

Technically you get unlimited PTO but good luck using it during your mandatory 100 hour weeks. The CFO/COO at least decided to give me severance so I could keep my benefits to have the surgery I rescheduled for this demo next week.

Cons

Technical management is worse than useless. They are actively ruining the future of this company through terrible workplace practices (Agile doesn't exist, we were expected to be our own product manager despite having a full management structure for a small ~5 man team, I was acting as a team lead with no additional pay). I think this company is going to go down the tubes within a few months with the current CTO at the helm. I'm still not really sure what the tech management did other than come up with new requirements mid sprint and refuse to adjust priorities. They really care less than zero about their employees. For example, he promised a complete rewrite of our core product which took multiple years to build in 3 months. I worked an approximately 400 hour month and then was promptly fired after the initial working delivery. They laid off the entire US dev team and we all suspect they're outsourcing to India where working 100 hour weeks is expected and nobody will complain about it. Stay away if you value your sanity.

Pros

Paid on time bi weekly

Cons

Low salary, expectations clear as mud. Salary position worked well over 40 hours/week. Training was abysmal 1 day in person rest was on own reading and phone calls/teams meetings. Worked there almost 2 months and let go, cause I had a part time job that they knew I wasn't quitting and when let go they gave that as reason.

Pros

Paid Direct Deposit On-Time, Supplied Equipment (subpar to min requirements)

Cons

Man this place is really bad. As a 10 year Unity Developer and having 5 years at my previous job I went into this job hoping for the same good luck I found at my previous employer. But, that quickly was demolished in my first week with racist derogatory comments from my management team about Black Americans and Chinese Americans. One of the employees entered a video chat not wearing clothes (at least a shirt). I reported to HR and they did nothing about it except tell the manager that I had complained about his racist comments. On top of all this, IT came to me and told me to run this place was a disaster and he was not wrong. In my first week, I was made to fake physics math that altered the effectiveness of treatment goals. After submitting my two-week notice word got out that I was working on personal projects at night on my own computer using my own tech licensing. After they offered me more money and a higher role to have access to my project I turned it down and walked away. Disgusting people like this need to be canceled. I do not usually write bad reviews of bad jobs I just leave well enough alone. This one I could not and felt I had to warn people of the horrible things this company allows and does. Please if you are reading this find a better job.

PT Genie Response

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and I’m sorry for the experience you had while with PT Genie. I want to address some of your concerns: At PT Genie we take harassment and discrimination in the workplace very seriously and would never tolerate this type of behavior. We have a very in depth policy on discrimination and harassment that are reviewed and signed by all employees the day of their hire and we also require all employees take harassment training. All claims of harassment are investigated thoroughly and confidentially. If we determine that harassment has occurred, the appropriate corrective actions will be taken, up to and including termination. We want to ensure that every employee is comfortable in their work environment and our HR team will take all necessary action to ensure compliance. Our application was originally developed using sensors to determine the motion of a limb. When a patient uses a resistance band in therapy, our tools are able to determine the amount of force being placed on the body by measuring the patient’s motion while using the band. The band we were using had published equations from the manufacturer that determined the distance a band would stretch when fully extended. Patients in a therapy setting do not tend to extend their resistance band fully because they tend to grab it in the middle versus the very ends, which is what the manufacturers equation provided data for. Our goal in the resistance band project was to attempt to find an equation that fixed the issues of grabbing a band at the end versus the middle, which has been successful executed. When an employee joins PT Genie they sign an NDA, as with most software companies. This NDA discusses that any confidential information, including the developmental plans, technology, ideas, inventions, software programs and code, and more are confidential and shall remain the exclusive property of PT Genie. Please feel free to reach out to our HR team at any time if you have any concerns regarding your NDA or employment with PT Genie. Again, we apologize for your experience and work extremely hard to make sure that our employees are satisfied and enjoy working for PT Genie.
