Pros

Great people, great connections between co-workers, people who support each other and help themselves in hard times.

Cons

If you are a 'Yes man' or a junior who just wants to get some experience, this is a good place for you. But if you are an open-minded individual who openly shares your challenges, you won't get far. The management makes it difficult for everyone that doesn't agree with their point of view or speaks loudly about things that need to be changed. The perks are non-existent. They promise you paid massage sessions every month, refuel kitchen, private health insurance, flexible working hours, and remote working options, but when you actually join the company, you see that this doesn't happen in practice.

Hi - thanks for taking the time to review working at Pabau. Firstly, to any potential employee reading this, please take time to engage with our current employees or come and visit our HQ over at the Aerodrome if you have an interview, where you will see the reality of working at Pabau, you will soon see it is not as this 'employee' is describing. Please note; most of these reviews are from employees who no longer work with us, or are underperforming and are part of a targeted campaign against Pabau. Reviewer; to respond to your points directly:- We have recently implemented the people forum, where we respond and act directly on employee feedback, this has seen at least 10 changes implemented in the past 3 months, direct from our teams. We are in the process of implementing hybrid working, department by department, and we expect this to be fully rolled out in the next couple of months, developers/sales/marketing/recruitment are now hybrid. Our perks are currently in operation and more are coming; we offer nail treatment, free haircuts, and private health care for senior roles - if you are considering working at Pabau, feel free to pop into our HQ and see these in operation. We have a people forum where people can feedback across all departments, and we have been implementing many changes based on this forum.

Not as good once you start working here

Pros

Most of the people are nice and hardworking, but management doesn't know how to keep them.

Cons

• I feel bad for people who have high expectations when they enter the company because at first everybody thinks it's great only to later realize that's not the case. • Worst thing is that management sometimes shows signs of wanting to do something about it but nothing comes out off their "efforts". • I agree with the comment that a lot of mansplaining is happening at this company. Male employees are given praise and encouragement while the women not so much. • The said flexible hours are only available for selected employees. They said that they would allow hybrid work and only some people got the chance to work that way. • Low salaries in all departments. Unlike other companies they rarely increase salaries after 3-6 months of working here. It's forbidden to talk about your salary with colleagues because of course that way the inconsistencies will be uncovered. • A lot of these negative reviews are written by current employees, don't let them convince you otherwise. Employees are dissatisfied and angry at the management. • Out of all competent HRs in Macedonia they decided to employ the worst one - doesn't act the role and gets a weird joy out of sacking employees. Doesn't know how to talk and listen to them, and is unpleasant. • When your review is due they will make sure that they critcize your work so that if you ask for a raise, they'd have reasons to deny it. • A lot of burnout happening among employees, not because of work but because of all the mental stress.

We are in the process of implementing hybrid working, department by department, and we expect this to be fully rolled out in the next couple of months, developers/sales/marketing/recruitment are now hybrid. Our salaries are benchmarked against all other companies in Macedonia and we are comfortable that they are attractive The negative reviews that you advise are left by current employees does not match the reality on the ground, I am more than happy to speak to any employee about issues they may have with a view of making changes where they are required, however, you will find that the negative reviews are part of a wider smear camapign generally from underperforming employees or people who we have let go. Again, the people who have issues with our HR, and generally those who sit in the camp I mentioned above, our engaged employees feedback how great our HR is. All staff raises are done based on job level, as part of a full performance review.

Bad Management and Low Salaries

Pros

Interesting product, great team spirit, supportive team leads and hard-working people, some opportunity for growth, hybrid work option.

Cons

Upper management is incredibly condescending, not apprecieative of hard-working employees and create unecessary stress and tension. Not transparent during interviews on key things. Salaries are low and dispite inflation, raised are rarely given. When a raise is given, it’s insignificant and almost always comes with a ton of additional disproportionate responsibility. They are hiring constantly, due to the fact that this place has an incredibly high turnover, which is another sign that they are doing something wrong. They rush to making big changes and more often then not employees are being left to deal with their rushed decisions with little to no warning. Training is subpar and not actually relevant to the job role. If they see that you can do your job, they overwork you to the point of burnout, asking you to assume a milion responsibilities outside of your job title. They lack the private insurance benefit which is a standard for IT companies in Macedonia. HR is not on a good level and does not provide any support for the employees apart from constant criticizing. Even condition in the office is subpar, the whole operations team is on a basement floor with no natural light, disfunctional heating and just in general not a very pleasant place to be at.
