Pros

I should have read the reviews on Glassdoor before I applied for a job at the Pacific Firm. I had a phone interviewed with the Managing Director. The conversation went well. The MD was very personable and was easy to talk with. I was invited to interview in person with the rest of the team. The MD warned me that they were in transition and they were working out of the CEO's home and a small studio a block away but, soon would be moving operations to the east bay. I met with one of the recruiters and the CEO. It was a little awkward but, I liked what I what I heard. I was offered the job several days later. I was assigned a couple executive searches that were very interesting and challenging.

Cons

If ever you could describe a work environment as manic this would be it. The CEO had zero patience and looked like she was on the edge of a breakdown. She swore, she was inappropriate in every way. She spoke about her personal life (including her sex life) which made for a very uncomfortable work environment. There was no training from her at all. Her training was "do this , do that " and then she would get quite agitated when you didn't understand how to do things. She huffed and puffed and then storm into her bedroom/office and start yelling on the phone. The systems and processes were so out dated which made it hard to do your job well or at all. On the bright side when I worked at the other office with the MD it was like night and day. He was so positive and supporting and didn't make me feel like a total idiot like the CEO did. It was actually fun when I worked with him and the other recruiters. I dreaded having to work in the other office with the CEO. I just never knew what to expect from her. Luckily, I was told on a Friday night by the CEO that there was not enough work to keep me on and I was so relieved. I think most, if not all of the nice people that worked there are gone now.
