Pros

I've met one of the most caring interdisciplinary teams here. There's a high turnover rate, but each medical professional I've worked with deeply cared for each patient.

Cons

All of these positive reviews are either false or naive. Every negative review is pretty much spot on. The difficulty with this company is the owner. All you have to do is Google his name and you'll see he leaves an unfavorable digital footprint. He's banned from practicing in three states! He hired me "on the spot" because my undergraduate degree was in Marketing. So that's what he'll use you for - he'll use you to illegally seize patients (from other hospice organizations, hospitals, etc) in order to grow the business. He even asked me to solicit $150 to do a funeral for a patient! I guarantee 75% of Pacific Hospice's census is not hospice appropriate! He's pretty much taking advantage of Medicare.

Pros

My mentor was the best RN ever. She trained me and supported me in every way possible. The nurses are compassionate. There is a team approach. Whenever I was too busy other nurses helped me. Now I do the same for them😊. The patients are grateful for the comfort care that I provide. I have gotten several thank you cards from families. I like hospice because it gives me time to get to know my patient and caregiver. I started here six months ago.

Cons

Driving in traffic to patients homes. All the patient visits are at patient homes, board and cares etc.

Pros

Salaries slightly higher than industry average.

Cons

Unprofessionally family run company. High employee turn-over. Long hours, too much work, no OT. Extreme micro-management; if you are ready to be watched and belittled over every miserable minute of your daily 8-12 hours, apply at Pacific Hospice. Promise you will get you asked for. Do yourself a favor and stay far way from this soul drenched company.
