Pros

Great pay and a central location

Cons

Sometimes a celebrity would do something bad and we'd have to scrub all his shows off the TV pages. It was pretty hectic

Pros

Expectations are for speed combined with high professional standards and so you work in an environment where competency is high. Work from home is actively encouraged. Management is friendly and accessible, and encourages high degree of autonomy for those they deem capable of it.

Cons

Editorial work is fairly limited to newspapers, and in the current environment newspapers are not a reliable customer base. Work from home means a lack of Real contact With colleagues which can become very lonely and isolating over anything more than a short period. Wages were set quite a lot lower than the newspapers from which many of Pagemasters’ staff had come (after being made redundant at newspapers). It’s irksome working for employees to have to do the same jobs they had fora much lower rate, although lately this would likely not be the case as newspapers have similarly drastically lowered staff numbers and wages.
