Pros

Your coworkers will be good, no pros otherwise

Cons

Where to begin. The benefits are minimal with barely a plan, might as well buy your own at that point. The pay is horrendous for what is expected of you. The upper management is corrupt in Victoria/B.C. They will ignore abuse, S.A, racism and sexist behaviour and frequently put their guards in compromising and extremely dangerous situations without a care. If you have an issue with anything the higher ups will completely erase any evidence of wrongful behaviour of their staff expecting the workers to take the verbal abuse. Worksafe standards are not listened to. This job is not for women due to the sexist environment. If you want to be abused this is the company for you. Seriously go seek another security company anything will be better

Pros

Paid training, Reimbursements for food and gas, great as a stepping stone company, nothing more, nothing less. Ideally a great job for university students, people with no social life, or people with no families. Go casual, do NOT go full time.

Cons

84 hour work week, NO OVERTIME. 7 on, 7 off. They will still ask you to work, AFTER WORKING 84 HOURS. Of course you can decline but it's kind of ridiculous how management just sees you as a pawn and not as a human being. Trying to ask for time off is absolutely impossible, even if you ask 3 months in advance you will be declined, with no good reason and no room for discussion. If you work here, you are their wage slave. This is fact. Yes, they pay for training but you do have to pay it yourself only then will they reimburse you, which can be challenging for some individuals. Yes, they pay for food and gas but if your travel is under 50km they do NOT reimburse it. Be careful for food as well as they will try to scalp every penny down to the cent.

Pros

Well managed and well-meaning employer, but...

Cons

Paladin always answers negative comments on Glassdoor by saying how they are one of the best managed companies in Canada and offer some of the highest wages in the industry, but $11.00/hr for what is expected of a Healthcare Security Officer is not saying much.
