Pros

I worked for Partner in Publishing from 2022 to 2025. Lisa hired me straight out of graduate school and believed in me from day one. She gave me the opportunity to grow, flourish, and build meaningful connections within the organization and beyond. The skills I developed and the professional network I built during my time there have led to endless career opportunities and continued growth. I am incredibly grateful for her mentorship and for the confidence she placed in me early in my career.

Pros

I’ve had a wonderful experience working at PIP. It’s an environment where the time and effort you put in truly come back to you, which is super motivating. If you’re organized, a clear communicator, and willing to step up, you’ll feel that reflected pretty quickly. Desire to learn is definitely rewarded here! Senior leadership is approachable and invested. When you express interest in growing or taking on something new, doors open. There’s real support for professional development. There’s overlap between departments, so you get constant exposure to the different areas of marketing by collaborating across teams. Ongoing skill-building to keep up with the industry is really encouraged, so I’ve been learning a ton and expanding my toolkit, which is invaluable for people who want to go far in marketing. If you’re motivated, PIP is a place where you can genuinely thrive! :)

Pros

The variety of projects at Partner in Publishing gives you constant opportunities to build new skills and learn from everyone—from senior leaders to team members and interns—so there is genuine room to grow at every experience level. The flexibility is outstanding, with contract, part-time, and, when available, full-time roles that can adapt to different seasons of your life. During a tough job market, I watched the contract opportunities in particular help many people get through an uncertain time. Leadership truly cares—not just Lisa and Kevin, but the project leads across the company—who genuinely look out for people as individuals. They focus on helping you grow and learn, and when many companies were laying people off, they worked incredibly hard to keep as many team members employed as possible. You never feel like a number here. It's a supportive, caring culture - albeit fast past agency life, that is kind of addicting!

Cons

If you are not a go-getter personality type, a multi-tasker, or someone who is a natural problem solver you may find it difficult to work for an agency - not just PIP. You need to be someone who is proactive, have a voice, and enjoy working with a variety of project types, clients, and team members that have different experience skill levels.
