Pros
Free food during a shift and 50% off all to-go and retail items, pretty much loved all my co-workers like family-friends and a lot of us hung out outside of work, tips can be pretty strong on any given evening (if you work at the restaurant, but if you get a shift at the Cafe, see below ADVICE) and at times, it can be a fun place to work
Cons
Much has changed since the transition of the single location (which was originally an amazing place to be) to two, with the original turning into a Take Out/Delivery cafe and the new location becoming a Full-Service restaurant. Both FOH and BOH have been working consistent doubles and clopens, while also taking up extra duties and responsibilities (ex. inventory, ordering, counting cash at the end of the night, locking the doors, closing up, etc) to make up for staff consistently quitting - recently the head chef, a FOH supervisor/lead (both from the very beginning), sous chef, a lead bartender/somm, line cooks, bussers etc ... while not offering up any additional compensation. No real training, organization or sense of accountability, especially by management, but a constant desire to add and demand more, without any clear communication of expectations and direction. I never know what I'm about to walk into: if it's having to pick up someone else's slack, dance around someone's power-tripping attitude or if I'm going to have to work my butt off but at the end of the week, realize that all my tips at the Cafe combined didn't even equal out to minimum wage. and them not caring enough to do anything about it. Plus any mistakes, faults and minor inconveniences (many times due to exhaustion and burnout or again, lack of communication or direction) were usually unnecessarily blown up and were handled via aggressive, condescending confrontation.
