Pros

Payment Systems Regulator - Good pay relative to economic regulators not compared to financial services industry

Cons

Payment Systems Regulator - Legal and policy team people leaving in droves All original legal team gone in two years Capricious bonus awards and promotion HoD level is fractious, out of control and not held to account Comms team has more managers than any other team Number of regulated payment systems about to decrease rapidly Poor promotion prospects Most of good work has been done - limited shelf life and vague strategic direction Blame culture and victimisation of those that speak out

Pros

The remuneration is quite good but not worth it.

Cons

There is a lack of leadership from senior management. Middle management do not offer any challenge to senior management over anything. The culture is broken. The abnormally high sickness absence levels and staff turnover particularly in the legal department speak volumes.

Exciting space in regulation Agile, fast paced interesting work
