Pros

Nice offices. Maybe if the same effort and care was put into the employees as into decorating the offices, it would be a different company. Probably not though, because it would still be run by the same people.

Cons

I should have known from how disorganised and absurd the interview was, and how little respect was shown, that this would be a disaster. I was warned by other employees to watch out for the CEO during my first week already. Tasks, directions, job descriptions are all reassigned and changed at the CEO's whim. Colleagues tattle on each other behind each other's back about any little thing, no matter how insignificant, like it is highschool. Management gets involved with what little personal life you are permitted to have. Unless you worship the company and are the CEO's pet, you are useless, underperforming or a loser. Everyone the CEO doesn't like is a loser. Customers are losers. Staff are losers. Competitors are losers. The CEO is verbally abusive, degrading, immature, unreasonable and controlling. Micromanagement abounds. The only purpose the company seems to serve is to sustain the lifestyle of management. How they are still in business is baffling. They are either completely unknown in the industry or if they are known, it is because someone has had a run-in with the CEO, often with him threatening to sue. They will lie and try to manipulate you. Staff turnover is ridiculous - that alone should tell you enough.

We change people's jobs and titles if they fail their tasks to not have to fire them and to give them a second chance, so they can explore an area they might be strong at. Some people should be fired right away without giving them second chances but we have a 3 strike rule and we keep our promise.

Pros

Free food? CEO thinks that free food is the answer to all of the company's problems.

Cons

I would do three things to get a sense of how horrible this place is. 1) Read the reviews on here. 2) Read how the CEO responds and notices the language and things he chooses to talk about. Would you consider this appropriate language? 3) Google "Paymentwall lawsuit". The evidence is here and the CEO and his cronies are squarely to blame. If you're still not convinced, go for an interview. It will be very entertaining. My time at Paymentwall was...a waste of time.

Pros

- free food - offices in good locations

Cons

- CEO is verbally and emotionally abusive - No sign of professional leadership skills, one is constantly faced with criticism of trivial nature - Employees are randomly attacked for their personal characteristics incl. appearance - Very high staff turnover - 24/ availability is a must. Being off sick is not accepted, your integrity & commitment to the company will be questioned - Some people are spying on your work & private life - Very low salaries - Lies are part of the internal communication to e.g. badmouth other/former employees - Advice: Do not trust anyone incl. HR and read other real reviews

Some people come to interview really nicely dressed up, then the day they start working, they come to the office in their underwear and pajamas, it's particularly special when we have clients visiting us or when we have a bank meeting. It really represents the "startup" culture in San Francisco and Amsterdam to have employees dressed up in their bedroom attire. But we are guilty, we make everyone work 24/7/365 with no weekends off, no vacation and no sick days so these employees have no time to go home and change. We will take note of this and try to give them an hour or two break to end this drama once and for all. We particularly enjoy working with very honest colleagues who get sick on the day they have a vacation planned to London and who don't come to work but call in sick and still make it to their flight.
