Pros
Leading edge work is interesting. If you have have the right balance of skill and personality, you’ll grow. Management genuinely cares about their employees.
Cons
Technical management is terrible. They care about you, but as far as the actual work that’s involved, it’s pretty rough. Lots of unnecessary stress, lots of pressure, very unclear expectation most of the time. They have no idea how to scope out a project in terms of amount of work or amount of time involved. No idea how to handle personnel issues and any conflict that comes up. It’s like working at a bad episode of a bad office sitcom.
