Pros

Pay Work from home Equipment provided

Cons

Very cliquey management where personal relationships help protect them from criticism. The induction consists of said management reading out a series of PowerPoint presentations - don't expect actual relevant training here or any support when issues are raised. The role is akin to social work and unless you have worked in this sector or similar, you will be unprepared for the complex cases you are given. It felt very uncomfortable to be speaking with such vulnerable people with no proper training. If you have already found yourself working here and wish to leave- they will make this as difficult and unpleasant as possible. I had some nasty exchanges which were completely unprofessional and uncalled for. The team are exhausted, criticised and talked about like they don't matter. Far from being the supportive environment I was expecting, this was an extremely stressful waste of time where I quickly found myself joining the revolving door of people leaving. Thankfully I soon found something much better who have restored my faith in employers.

Pros

Good pay Remote working Opportunities to progress

Cons

A strange place to work. Found most staff to be unapproachable, abrasive and unhelpful. The organisation put on a pretence of being inclusive and supportive, but I found there to be a blame culture and the management style to be micro-managey. There is insistence on things being done the long way round and heavy focus on reporting, as a lot of data needs to be presented to the board to maintain funding. This all means it is difficult to make progress. The organisation acts in a very dated way, relying on paper and post. For remote roles they also require you to have a second broadband line installed in your home and an ancient looking office phone installed, meaning you are chained to one room. The organisation has been around a long time, but seems to be in a constant state of change and puts heavy emphasis on employees ‘personal development’ and providing ideas - this to me is because management are no sure on how things should be run themselves. People are attracted to the roles as they pay well, however there seemed to be a high turnover.
