Poor work culture

Pros

7 on 7 off

Cons

No nights premium Poor work culture Racism Favoritism Racial jokes Old employees who have only worked in this company and no where else thinks they know how the industry works and try to spread bad work habbits and poor maintenance. Some AMEs will laugh at other employees for not somethings. Every license guy wants to be the boss, some are actually really nice and will go above and beyond to help you out but some are idiots and put bad face to the company, they are probably the reason why people quit from this company. Company has no basic standard of work, if you are new employee you have start memorizing and adopting the way each license AMEs works, like their way of doing tasks and if you don't do that then you are an idiot in their point of view.

Pros

- Great schedule (7 days On / 7 days Off) - Standby travel with many major airlines - Great people to work with (dispatchers, crews)

Cons

- The Pilot-in-waiting program is a scam to attract pilots into ground positions with no real possibility to go in a flying position. The company made false promises to every pilots on the ground here and everybody ends up quitting. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. - Terrible managers, will try everything to make your life harder. Toxic relationship towards employees and double standards. - Pay is below other companies with a $0.50/h raise after 2 years.

Not a good place

Pros

Fast ground to flight line and good travel benefits

Cons

Extremely low pay. YWG Dash FO make 33k/year and Metro FO make almost 30k/ year. You get an extra $3000/ year if you willing to relocate to other bases. Almost no reliable grounds equipments and ground staff at the destinations. This is probably the only place in North America where pilots ( 99% the FO), has to load bags, fuel and de-ice the plane. Seems like it’s a norm to have the pilot to do these instead of hiring ground staffs. Managment don’t care about the pilots. Thus, the high turnover rate.
