Pros
-Staff discounts were very good. -The product is reasonable quality and well made. -Working for an old all Australian company gives you a sense of pride and customers like it. -The original state manager was a legend, but he was bullied out of the role.
Cons
-Upper Management has some of the worst communication I've ever seen, despite several claims to improve it. -Upper management have proven they are willing to make adjustments to employee contracts and company policy without warning, notice or approvals, and some staff were just never given proper contracts, only offer letters. -Zero HR training in the office, which leads to a great deal of bullying from both upper and lower management directed towards myself and I know plenty of other victims both past and present. Upper management just outright refuses to acknowledge any bullying is even happening. -No state managers, so you are dealing directly with the owners, which you would initially think would be great but it leads to highly uncomfortable and awkward conversations. They seem to believe that because it is their business, we should also treat it like its our business. -Pays are highly inconsistent and often incorrect so you'll need to start getting really good at reading your payslips every cycle. They have been improving since a recent staff change, but still check every payslip. -There are lots of expectations but we were never once given any actual targets so it's difficult to understand what said expectations actually are. -They refused to pay to advertise roles so almost every store was understaffed at the time I left. -They have proven they are willing to watch and listen to staff through the store cameras, and reprimand you for the smallest things if caught. -Outdated hustle culture regarding sales. "Sales above all" mentality. This may have been great for 2010, , customers can smell a hustle a mile away.
