Pros

You’ll likely gain exposure to real business / media billing cycles, customer / advertiser accounts, contracts. This is helpful if you want to move into accounting, finance, or administrative roles later.

Cons

Salary May Be Considered Low / Not as High as Industry Might Offer Slower Promotion / Career Growth

Low salary, great benefits

Pros

Despite the nature of news, work can be laid-back. The supervisor is also not so strict as long as you respond quickly and deliver requests. You'll have to rely on your existing skills to meet standards. Benefits are great (generous HMO coverage for you, some subsidies, a mid-year bonus, end-of-year bonuses are surprising too), though HMO does not cover dependents for free.

Cons

Very low salary. Often not enough to make ends meet. This is a good job if money is not an issue (I heard a lot stay because they're privileged enough, and news is their hobby/advocacy); otherwise consider other jobs with better pay (or part-time work).
