Poorly run company.

Pros

Decent pay, good health benefits, 401K, paid vacation time.

Cons

No work life balance, no flexibility with schedules, very small office with a lot of work for each employee to do, layoffs, very cheap office, no work culture whatsoever, favoritism with a select couple of employees, lack of leadership, negative and unhappy employees, lack of team work, lack of training, management micromanages, no accountability for the employees that don't do their jobs. Unfortunately, the list could go on.

Pros

There are genuinely good people within the organization — hard-working, passionate, and committed to serving the business community. Local teams tend to care deeply about their markets, and some colleagues go above and beyond despite the challenges. The brand itself is strong, and the work is meaningful when you’re connected directly to the community.

Cons

Compensation practices are consistently unclear and too often inaccurate, creating unnecessary stress and distrust. Leadership struggles to communicate transparently or honor commitments, which erodes morale and makes it difficult to do your job with confidence. At the corporate level, the talent pool feels stagnant — the same perspectives, the same decisions, and very little innovation or fresh thinking. Unfortunately, strong local contributors are often overshadowed or hamstrung by systemic issues they can’t fix.

Pros

Great production team Typical corporate infrastructure that provides contacts in different markets to connect with Occasional meetings with the team over food/coffee Great healthcare coverage

Cons

Lack of leadership starting with the Publisher that in turn created high turnover Lack of innovation, stalling the growth of the publication as well as avenues of potential sales revenue Leaders did not lead by example nor take any accountability/ responsibility, just blamed the team
