PLEASE READ. I disregarded reviews before accepting a position with Pinnacle and quickly regretted it. Pinnacle markets themselves as a large and ever evolving company & are seen as a major competitor in the research industry in San Antonio, but even with their growth, they are far from it. For starters, HR consists of only two women who very obviously don’t commit to or follow HR regulations or business law. The only and best way to put it is that they are just rude. If an issue is brought up to them, they tend to ignore it without taking action and then act very rude to your afterwards. Their attitude is very retaliatory in that sense when it comes to future issues or promotions in position or pay, you will not have a chance at them. Management follows the same structure as HR. Very toxic leadership. Most managers and supervisors pick their favorite employees and then ignore the rest or treat them very badly. You can go days without seeing your direct management and on many occasions it’s because they failed to show up to work and did not notify anyone. Once you do something your management doesn’t like, they tend to give you the cold shoulder and retaliate rather than address the situation or use it as a learning opportunity. To follow up on HR and management, intimidation is very common. A LOT of employees are afraid to voice their opinions or bring up issues in fear of a negative response. Turnover is HIGH. Pinnacle is constantly short staffed (especially in clinic) and as a result, staff are overworked and fall behind, with management still expecting staff to do a more than stand up job. You will always be behind on work, and if you’re familiar with sponsor requirements for data entry/AEs/SAEs/query response and everything else, you can pretty much forget about meeting those deadlines and requirements. This means you are guaranteed to have overtime on every paycheck, which if you look at positively, means you’re adding to your base pay. With that being said, having those overtime hours is frowned upon and you will be consistently questioned as to why you have extra hours. They are constantly making postings on job sites about hiring, however never take the initiative to interview candidates. Following that point, Pinnacle will conduct internal transfers (within less than a year, which is their policy) for positions or departments that are not short staffed or do not need help, but will not promote qualified employees to positions or departments that critically need it due to the constant staffing shortage. Reviews are never conducted, no matter how much you bring it up to your direct manager or HR. This leaves little room for growth within the company and any hopes or chances at pay raises. This includes for people with years of experience and people who have been with the company for multiple years. The pay inequality is very obvious at Pinnacle. There is no set pay range for any position. Two people in the same position can be making vastly different salaries. They do not base anything off of your experience or the requirements of the job. In this sense, you can ask for whatever salary you desire and they will most likely say yes. Meaning you don’t have to lowball yourself even if you have little or no experience in the position you’re seeking. Pinnacle boasts about their employee referral program (which is only $200), but will not hire anyone who has an outside relationship with the referring employee (this not only includes romantic relationships, but simple acquaintances as well), due to the “unprofessionalism,” however they have many romantic couples openly working within the company. Multiple times has the building been broken into, badges stolen, or employees attacked, all by psych patients escaping from the ward across the street due to lack of security. There have been multiple cases of squatters in the building for weeks at a time without being noticed, even WITH security cameras. Please do not take any negative reviews with a grain of salt. It is truly a nightmare to work here and nobody’s ethics align with what they should be for a company in the research and medical field. You will quickly see the facade fade and lose interest in the job/position that you may have been passionate about prior to working at Pinnacle. It is sickening to see the abuse that goes on within this company.
