Pros
Good people at all levels from directors to junior staff. All really friendly and understanding. Progression is really good. You get put in challenging positions and learn lots, and as a result, this is acknowledged and you move up positions quickly depending on the quality of work. Senior staff understand your strengths and work towards those whilst helping to build your weaknesses. Good variety of projects for a Landscape Architecture practice, and colleagues are more than willing to help. The ethos of the practice is sincere, and they genuinely are passionate about the environment from a physical and social point of view, with many CPDs, engagement exercises and talks to support the community.
Cons
Pay - Salaries in this profession aren't substantial, but it could be better. Can have long hours for a lot of the projects, and the expectation is to stay and complete when necessary - not paid enough to work these hours. No real staff benefits - cycle to work scheme is good for people that like cycling, but not everybody likes/enjoys cycling.
