Inexperienced Leadership Creating Toxic Culture -- leadership is disrespectful and dismissive of employees. They prioritize appearances and optics over well-being and outcomes. I've personally had leadership speak poorly behind my back to my peers, as if we were in 8th grade, while I was handling several customer issues created by them. Expect immature responses, illogical strategies (if you can call them that), and manipulation.
Exploitation of Employees -- leadership will try to squeeze as much out of you as they can. Occasionally, when presented with reasons why their demands are not only incredibly disrespectful, but edging towards being illegal, they'll adjust. But without accountability, expect to be exploited for your labor to increase their own wealth. During one meeting with leadership within the first 6-weeks of working there, I was unexpectedly handed several more tasks on top of not being, trained and overwhelmed from my current workload. I was told to "do it. You're salaried so you may just need work 11-hour days then" -- it's clear that leadership does not see employees as humans.
Very little training -- Don't expect to be trained, expect to be thrown into everything and then be criticized for everything you do. I never heard my boss say a single positive thing about me or my work. In fact, there was several occasions where she outright laughed at my work, sometimes in front of other people in meetings.
Pay -- along with the exploitation, don't expect fair wages. There isn't a process for salary increases and equitable bonuses. I was not a commissioned employee, however, I was taking on the vast majority of the work and told to mark down my commission-earning boss as the sales lead, claiming she was doing my work.
TL;DR: inexperience, toxic leadership who views employees as expendable labor rather than human beings (definitely profits over people culture). STAY AWAY if you want to keep your mental health stable.
*FYI, minimal amount of paid holidays I have ever heard of- 6 in total; while 3 weeks of PTO seems okay, it's not great when you don't even have Christmas Eve off. (Especially, painful when leadership took 4+ weeks of vacation within just a handful of months -- but you're criticized for taking a single day)
