I have been working at Playdemic full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This is my first job in the gaming industry, but I can safely say that it's been a stellar first impression. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, there isn't a bad word I can say about anyone (which is a miracle compared to my previous jobs) While a fun and somewhat casual industry it is still very much professional and well managed, the team really care for one another and management always acknowledge when we've all made tremendous progress. You cant go wrong with free drinks, snacks, fruit and the team social outings are some of the craziest and most enjoyable I've ever been on. Playdemic take great pride in keeping their employees happy, as without a happy and motivated employees they lose their work power and they understand that (something that other industries and big names could really take note of)

    Cons

If I'm honest, I really don't have any cons. Working here is bringing me out of a long term depression caused by awful previous employers. If you're looking for somewhere to progress with, Playdemic is your company for that.

I have been working at Playdemic full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I personally have worked for quite a lot of differents studios during the last 12 years, and I want to say that Playdemic is by far the best I have ever worked for. Following are the reasons for : - The company is being lead in a very professional way, which, believe me, is not that frequent in the Video game industry. Good management. -The balance work/fun is, in my opinion, perfect. People are cool and kind, which helps a lot to be productive. Mostly, the atmosphere is also favorable to work: Pretty quiet and dynamic at the same time. - The communication is very good too, which, again, is quite rare in this industry. People are able to discuss anything in a calm and respectfull manner. No agressivity at all, and good transparency. -Great projects to work on. -Flexible time. - Lots of advantages: Free snacks, drinks, fruits, nuts, etc. Very cheap gym membership, etc. Playdemics Takes care of its employees, which is not very frequent in the industry. Lots of other good stuff to mention, I honestly recommend this company!

    Cons

My only concern: sometimes a few colleagues don't observ the calm that is required within an open space/ working environnment and act a bit too much like at home: Speaking loudy about personnal stuff, laughing loudy, etc. But, truly this is minor.

I have been working at Playdemic full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company creates a good atmosphere in which you can work in a casual environment in which quality is expected and rewarded. Friendly staff and the management team are very involved and feel like they are always open to providing and receiving feedback. Good opportunities for team building and overtime. Company is running at the forefront of the industry and is great place to be if you want a small company atmosphere with big company aspirations.

    Cons

As might be expected with a company of this size opportunities to advance may be limited, although you are encouraged to go for these as they are available.

I worked at Playdemic full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Upper level management are very open and upfront about current standing and proceedings. Being so open establishes a unique working atmosphere which in turn makes you feel like a valued part of the company and relaxed in approaching management about any concerns or thoughts. They are very positive in wanting to get the most out of their employees and help search for progressive opportunities whenever possible. They hold sporadic events throughout the year to help keep employee morale high and are usually very good fun and perfect for team building.

    Cons

There was a peer review system in place which I felt was more like a popularity contest. There also wasn't in much of appraisals to keep up to date with employees thoughts and feelings but with the approachable upper level management they encouraged employees to come forwards proactively.

I have been working at Playdemic

    Pros

I have been working at Playdemic for almost 2 years and really love it here. The company is refreshingly open, sharing information on products, financials, future plans, etc. The overall approach is very forward thinking with the leadership team willing to embrace new ideas and always pushing the business forward. It's a very people and culture focused environment, where management genuinely care about the happiness of the staff. I look forward to coming to work and leave feeling valued and appreciated - happy days!

    Cons

I'm struggling to think of any!

I worked at Playdemic full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great office location (right in the centre of Wilmslow) - Competitive & flexible working hours, especially for the video game industry - Friendly, casual atmosphere - I got to work with some truly talented, creative, intelligent, likeable, idiosyncratic people - Challenging work...

    Cons

    - ...but only because things were allowed to spiral out-of-control so often - Reactive & impatient Senior Management - Chaotic and rushed project management, leading to a lot of unnecessary (and unpaid) overtime - Poor coordination and communication between teams - Remarkable short-sightedness demonstrated in the architecture of important systems - Poorly maintained and inefficient development pipeline, creating far more work than needed - Very poor coding standards - Over-reliance on "key" individuals
