Pros

Free tickets to select performances Excellent healthcare

Cons

Management acted like raises were coming out of their personal bank account; toxic “we’re all family” mentality; Little to no room to grow/be promoted/get a raise; expectation to work extra hours but not get paid extra or take comp time. Discouraged/threatened to not share salary or pay info with other employees. Little to no diversity in hiring. Overall, Playhouse Square is full of red flags - run.

Pros

Perks of free show tickets offered to staff.

Cons

Paid parking only option, costing nearly half of an hour's pay to even go to work. Emphasis on "professionalism" while actively being separated from the rest of the organization. Overly zealous management who views using words like "alrighty" or "okay" as reasons to write up their associates.

Pros

1. Great perks - you get to see broadway shows for free when they dont sell out 2. Smaller workplace means you get to know most of the people in the office. 3. They dont fire people. You have a lot of job security as you'd have to really screw up or do something unethical to get fired. 4. Health benefits are really affordable. If you live and breathe Broadway, you will love this job. If you have other priorities outside of theater, it will be tough to balance.

Cons

1. Compensation is substantially below roles in for-profit equivalents. 2. Not a ton of diversity. 3. Toxic "we're a family" culture. They expect loyalty to the organization, often asking you to work weekends and nights at short notice. 4. Many employees experience retaliation when they put in their notice.
