An unflattering pattern is appearing

Pros

A strong mission with incredibly dedicated partners around the world.

Cons

Take a look at the pattern of reviews - one or two negative reviews, many outlining gaslighting or other toxic workplace issues followed by 2-3 'best place ever, CEO is amazing reviews'. The organization isn't large enough, especially not after the departure of so many staff members, to have this many authentic, glowing reviews. And, those who departed within the last year or so didn't leave with positive views of the organization. If the organization is willing to put this much effort into spinning stories on glassdoor, imagine what it is like on the inside.

When a person of color actually does more harm

Pros

The partners are doing incredible work in their respective areas.

Cons

NKH is a lying narcissist. This entire organization has been recreated in a matter of a year as most of the strong, knowledgeable and dedicated staff walked out the door. What was already a toxic and demoralizing environment was exacerbated by the leadership style of the new CEO. Do not be fooled by what looks like a diverse staff, systemic oppression and racism run the place. Partners are undermined, and PAI takes credit for work they did not produce. Financials are opaque. CEO built herself an unnecessary corner office, purchased $10k artwork, foundations slashed funding. Criticism is rejected and punished. HR gaslights and corners staff. The board leadership was changed without staff knowing, and the new president is a friend of the CEO. She is limiting access to accountability. They continue to get away with lies and deceit, without tangible results for all the money they receive. Foundations should hold PAI accountable for all they are not doing. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS PLACE unless you're interested in being a part of a high school mean girls circle.

Pros

In July of 2021 I received a much needed and appreciated raise from PAI, this was the first raise I have received since I started at PAI over three years ago. In fact, the entire company received salary raises in July 2021. It felt great to be recognized and appreciated. Nabeeha Kazi Hutchins has an open door policy, a real open door policy. She is attentive and caring, she listens when concerns are expressed and works with you to find solutions to problems. PAI is a transparent company, however, they do respect your privacy as an employee. My truth, I will express my concerns when I need to express them and I will also express satisfaction when I need to do so. I am a very satisfied PAI employee!
