Pros

Supportive and collaborative team culture on the production floor Great place to learn the ins and outs of coffee production from green coffee to final packaging Real opportunities for internal growth if you’re proactive Fast-paced environment with plenty of variety in day-to-day tasks Exposure to multiple parts of the supply chain, including roasting, QC, and logistics Tight-knit teams that work hard and care about doing things the right way Opportunities to contribute ideas and improvements—especially at the floor level Solid benefits (healthcare, PTO, etc.) Located in a good area with a strong coffee community

Cons

Upper management, particularly the VP of Operations, is disconnected from day-to-day operations and rarely engages with frontline staff Lack of clear direction or consistent expectations from leadership—goals and priorities often shift without communication Minimal coaching or mentorship, especially for new managers stepping into unfamiliar roles Performance issues are often met with discipline instead of support or development Critical decisions made without understanding the actual production process Feedback is not always welcomed or acted on by senior leadership Long periods of doing multiple roles without additional support or clear objectives Career development past a certain point depends more on navigating unclear politics than performance or potential

Pros

Good pay. Good benefits. Subsided trimet passes

Cons

Very, very difficult for BIPOC to succeed in the production department. Production managers and supervisors generally do not offer the same growth opportunities to non-white employees as they do for white employees. Multiple BIPOC have expressed these concerns to. management, only to be ghosted, gaslit and pressured into quitting. Management generally does not adhere to the communication standards outlined in the employee handbook.
