Pros

Hard working, undervalued staff. You get paid albeit below the average for the sector.

Cons

I can only echo what has already been said. This company should NEVER EVER be allowed to trade as a training provider, their sole purpose in life is to squeeze as much money as possible out of the unemployed and vulnerable by forcing them onto inappropriate courses. OFSTED would close them in a heartbeat if they were inspected outright. Unfortunately, as a sub contractor they always get plenty of notice to prepare for audits and visits. This means that files are doctored by a team of managers prior to sub mission !!! Centres are greatly under resourced, run down and filthy, equipment is totally outdated and often breaks down. Tutors are expected to perform the role of teacher, sales person, admin, receptionist, cleaner. You name it, they are expected to do it as well as keep their marking up to date with no support from management whatsoever. Doesn't matter that you may have a room full of learners to look after, if management say you have to drop everything and make job outcome calls or fill in another pointless spreadsheet then that's what you are expected to do Regardless. Learners are secondary here !!! No progression routes whatsoever, in fact I would say coming here is career regression as you are expected to do everything including scrub the toilets. family members are promoted to senior positions with little no or no knowledge and experience at all. Avoid at all costs, you have been warned.

Pros

Met some fab people at tutor level who work way too hard for the pay and treatment they receive by management and HR staff.

Cons

Where to begin... Unachievable goals set my management All they care about is getting as many students in as possible to make as much money as possible without any regards to health and safety. Do not care about learners, just about the numbers on a piece of paper. The more that achieve, the more money they get. That was their sole reason to get students to pass exams, management don't care if the learners actually learn something. Tutors are worked way too hard and try hard to help learners as much as possible but find their jobs so difficult with all the admin work they must do. Management will not hire admin staff so it always falls on tutors. No job security. Punish staff for having a life outside of work. Can't tell you the amount of women they have made redundant whilst on maternity. Have far too many students in a classroom. Up to 50 at a time. Facilities are an absolute joke. Dirty and although I've already mentioned it, I'll do so again, health and safety is none existent. Absolutely no support from management, I can give countless examples here but I don't have all year.

Pros

You get paid even if it is less than what's offererd in other companies for same job.

Cons

Management are poorly trained. Jobs in management are offered to family members and not qualified staff. Owner is only interested in money and not the learners. Management chop and change their minds every week them blame tutors when it doesnt work. Sales staff sent out leafletting in the pouring rain so are tutors. Tutors are expected to be parr time tutor's part time admin part time sales and part time cleaners but get paid in buttons!! Ridiculous workload. Management shove learners through the door with no care to their well being. Learners are forced to be crammed in a tiny room and not enough chairs because the company only cares about the funding it gives. Staff are worked like dogs. 'just do it' mentality. Management are unsupportive and two faced. HR mess up payments. 1 admin staff for the company. Team meetings revolve around money and figures and not subject training. The centres are filthy because the company cant be bothered to hire a cleaner. No heating or air con in bad weather. No water facilities in centre. No training is offered. High staff turnover. No job security. Staff are made redundant to save company money. Management work half days and talk about their kids when they are in work and spend their time making leaflets while sales and tutors are sweating blood to make the company stay open. Clearly the so called management are contributing to these posts. This company os disgusting no person should be forced to work here. Staff have lives outside of work and they get punished for it.
