Incredibly suffocating "Top-down" management style practiced by VP's. Employees don't feel empowered anymore and every decision is questioned, analyzed and dissected by management to the point where things stall. The same employees are then questioned by said VP's and are surprised when there are delays.
VP's think they know best for every engineering decision, right down to the daily operational details which makes it a frustrating work environment. Not a fulfilling or satisfying place to work when you can't do the job you are hired to do without being questioned every step of the way.
Unrealistic timelines are set for projects. Every human resource (engineers, tech, managers, directors) is juggling multiple projects yet senior management is surprised when there are delays or when they are explained the amount of work needed to successfully execute a complicated task.
No career progression plan for employees. If you end up working for the wrong manager, your career may stall. This is not often the fault of your manager rather the problem can be easily traced upward to the VP of each functional group.
