    Positive Outlook

I worked at Powercor Australia full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

We had a great team and leadership with a good culture and cared about our people and our customers/community. Pay was good and I enjoyed my time there greatly.

    Cons

Some old legacy people in other departments cause issues and didn't have the greatest work ethic. Implementing change could take some time but this is consistent in most corporate environments.

  4. "Extremely poor working environment."

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Powercor Australia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good social club. Interesting business model. Good place to start ones career (if they weren't living in the past)

    Cons

It is part and parcel of the culture to complain about other teams, and come up with reasons not to allow them suceed. Stuck in the past. Poor business processes. Immature at software development projects. Still use old software & OS, spreadsheets for everything, 5 weeks to spin up a virtual machine, IT help desk is very slow - 2 weeks to provision a new user, Not very different to sloths who work in government officers in South Asia.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Powercor Australia full-time for less than a year

    Pros

So much opportunity to move around within the business. Always a lot happening and some really awesome initiatives underway. Definitely an industry leader. Great people and good leadership.

    Cons

Unions are far too powerful in this industry. Needs some serious investigation across the board. Also some room for improvement with work/life balance. A bit old school in this regard.

I worked at Powercor Australia full-time

    Pros

Pretty progressive, profitable company with good senior leadership. Most likely the leading distribution business in Australia, but slowly slipping down if they don’t change soon Pay is ok, mid market

    Cons

-The CIO has retired in place and his direct reports largely have been promoted beyond their ability. Some exceptions tho -Lack of diversity in the business -low growth prospects, unlikely to be buying more assets anytime soon -Very far behind on the technology front, some pockets of excellence -if you’re not part of the University Blues or bike riding crowd, forget getting anywhere in senior management
