Very toxic work culture where office politics, favoritism, gossiping and backstabbing is rampant in the company, even in upper management positions.
After beginning employment with Primitives By Kathy, it only took me one week to realize the company lives up to its name…primitive. Primitives By Kathy is trying to do business with the big retail companies, who are at the level of playing chess, while Primitives By Kathy is still playing checkers and loses 99% of the time. Many at the company are praising themselves for soon to be implementing a WMS system. Well, welcome to the 1990’s.
It also only took me one week to realize the company is a toxic work culture and as others have mentioned in their reviews, favoritism, back-stabbing, gossiping, stealing other people’s ideas and corrupt office politics is rampant and widespread at Primitives By Kathy. You will find the majority of the corrupt office politics comes from the person’s sitting in the private offices. If a new person is hired, who has true knowledge in areas such as supply chain, logistics, business operations, regulatory and legal, they will be talked over in meetings, be excluded from meetings and communications, and have their ideas stolen. This is done by the “favorites” in the private offices so that they can hide the fact that they themselves are less knowledgeable and only hold their positions with the company due to favoritism, length of employment and ability to boldly talk about subjects they have no knowledge of, but since they tell the lie so boldly it is perceived to be truth. I was in several meetings where persons who have no experience in law or legal training, made bold claims about regulatory law, which were absolutely incorrect. That is very concerning and scary.
