Pro Care Counseling Response

1. Closed with no notice: Yes, ProCare Counseling in South Carolina had to close its doors because of lack of funding. 2. Did not initially pay last check until 3 days late: They were paid on their regular pay date, no lapse in time. The only difference was that it was not direct deposited into their account, they had to pick up a paper check. 3. Took down website for pay before agency closed: false, the payroll site was up and continued to be and all tax documents were issued. 4. Took advantage of medicaid and medicare clients by charging enormous amounts for drug screens: Absolutely false, we did not have a contract with Medicare or Medicaid to even have the ability to bill. We only charged a small fee for services to the patient when they came to their appointment, but never billed insurance, nor did we receive any money from drug screens. 5. Not honest with referral sources: absolutely false, counselors were not in contact with referral sources/clients. 6. No supervision on site: Correct, counselors were treated very independently due to their position as masters level counselors. There was a counseling supervisor on staff, just not in their office, as she had many offices to oversee. She was available via phone and email at all times. 7. Told numerous lies to all employees: This is obviously an exaggeration, because the counselors wouldn't know all employees, let alone all counselors from all offices. 8. Did not pay vendors: Absolutely untrue again, counselors were not privued to accounts payable or accounts receivable. There is no merit in this statement. Yes ProCare Counseling in South Carolina had to close its doors because of lack of funding. We gave 110% to try and make an exceptional environment for counselors and patients. We even paid our counselors exceedingly above average. We also, to a fault, allowed them to stay on the clock and paid them their full 40 hours per week, even when patient capacity did not call for a full staff at times. I hope this anonymous counselor has found full time employment and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience our closing has caused.
