They work on razor thin profit margins, offering services at the lowest possible pricing point. They depend on volume and containing costs for profit. They nickel and dime you on travel expenses - no compensation for driving 50 miles each way to a job, and minimal above that, doesn't even pay for gas, much less wear and tear on vehicle. Considering expenses and depreciation on all the gear I have to buy, my take home is 2/3 of my pay. Haven't gotten a raise in the many years on the job.

This, sadly, was the worst work experience of my life. I had repeated negative experiences with the women from my department and the photography department. Unfriendly, petty, bullying. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
