Pros

- There's a bar in the office. Pretty cool. - Sometimes there are fun events, but that's also been unpredictable with covid and not as much lately - Free lunch sometimes too

Cons

- Privately owned = No accountability. The CEO and COO are also the co-founders (and husband and wife.) Therefore, they answer to no one. Remember that. - It’s political. Want a promotion? Great! Now work OT all year (yes, even though you’re salaried), don’t use all your PTO (they’ll “say” you’re required to take at least 80 hours…), and get the endorsement of every single leader in the organization – Then maybe they’ll consider promoting you. - Leadership uses fear tactics to gain buy in. And because many entry-level and junior employees don’t know that those behaviors aren’t normal in the workplace, it works. (But again, you can’t fix a problem that begins at the top… because they won’t take accountability) - I'll list off a few more: Being staff aug'd on unfavorable projects for longggg times (it’s how you “earn your stripes”), no work life balance, minimal (and performative at that) diversity and inclusion, pay and benefits are less favorable than at a large co., etc. But, if you want to work at a toxic firm and reallllly need a job, they’re handing them out left and right. And if that’s the case, keep the above in mind and definitely negotiate on salary.

Pros

I found a culture that recognizes the diverse skill sets of any individual as simply the platform from which personal growth can occur and then celebrates that growth potential as a win/win...

Cons

The challenge of a streamlined on-boarding process is that you find yourself in a position to make an impact almost immediately...So, are you ready to make an impact?

Pros

When I first joined the firm I was enthused by how well those who interviewed me spoke about the culture of the firm, and how much opportunity their is for growth within the firm. Especially with my excitement towards healthcare and consulting.

Cons

The firm quickly demonstrated a different view than the one that was presented to me early on- the opportunities are primarily limited to staff aug roles and I found myself basically being employed by the client in one of their full-time roles. There was not true opportunity to learn actual consulting tools. Also, favoritism is the foundation of the culture, and it becomes apparent quickly unless you are diligent about aligning with the "right" people at the firm. There is not much opportunity to bring creativity to the table because leadership rejects anything that they disagree with- meaning you always have to be aligned and agree. Leadership puts a lot of emphasis on the year end consensus but the process itself is political and you don't have much say in your career growth. It is dictated by how much you are favored and if you have a solid counselor. Also, so many people left during my time there and had somewhat similar thoughts but their is a sense of fear to speak on it at the firm. ProspHire is a great example of smoke and mirrors.
