Cyberbullied at a Cybersecurity Company (Ironically)
Pros
-The company provides all the tools needed to succeed -Fair pay -Remote work
Cons
THE CULTURE- Two members of our department was bullied by a person in authority. Although being bullied at work in not unique to Qohash, it's how they addressed it that's disappointing. If the bully is in a position of power, then 99% of the time the victims are let go. Here's what I experienced: - The bully lambastes you in your initial one on ones, degrades you for your work and job experience and tells you they know people better suited for your position. (These folks are nepotists because they can't get along with people in general.) - They sabotage your work by warping your designs, giving you wrong directions to follow and causing drama if you don't follow it to a T. They make copies of copies of documents so your work is hidden from others, and they take the credit for the good ideas or complain that you missed the deadline and/or are lazy. They also involve other departments unnecessarily to make you look bad company-wide. - They cancel 1:1 meetings with you last minute or they don't bother showing up. (But if you don't show up, you'll never hear the end of it.) If you make a complaint, a polite suggestion or point out one of their mistakes, they take it personally and you will pay for it later on. Forget about teamwork and brainstorming, because bullies love to be in full control. That being said, I'm glad I'm a former employee because no one deserves to be bullied in their own home. Peace is now restored. Companies that operate remotely must be aware of the tactics used by employees that cyberbully others.
