Pros

Hard to find any pros!

Cons

Extremely toxic work culture. No training or proper leadership. When there is a failure, they are nothing more than finger pointing and finding someone to blame. No professional/career growth. Management is ridiculously poor and has no clue how to motivate employees, build the right teams and support their people. Absolutely no vision and not at all organized. This company is not worth working for at all. Bottom line, if you're a passionate developer, think before you leap. There are much better places to work for technologists in Toronto and in the current market even start-ups offer very competitive compensation and without unreasonable expectations for off-hours work.

Pros

- It seems they care for your growth as they sponser you to enroll in a training with the BrainStation boot camp which costs about 3k regularly (not sure what happens behind the scenes though and whether they have a relationship with BrainStation or not) - They somewhat try to listen to feedback

Cons

- The bootcamp training is not that good - The management is very egotistical and insists on what they want even when the development team warns them repeatedly. For example, they decided to use a React library called 'CoreUI' and this made development hell for everyone since CoreUI is a very bad library - Management tried to track the interns to see why they are not seeing progress in the development instead of actually listening to them and realizing the mistakes in their decisions. Like others mentioned, they just want the work done but have no clue about the feasibility of it since they have no technical background - The pay is low for the amount of work and the mess you have to deal with - A lot of developers stay for a very short period and this causes the codebase to be a mess all the time. There is no real development team or structure - There is really not much room for growth here and if you are stuck on a problem, you are on your own and are expected to figure out fast

Pros

There was a strong culture of collaboration. Senior developers and leads were approachable, and code reviews were treated as learning opportunities rather than gatekeeping. some of the projects were very innovative and the learning xp was really great. I can only talk about my own experience but i really enjoyed my time there.

Cons

Some of the projects had short deadlines that could put a bit of pressure on coders with little xp.
