I have been working at Quantium full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Amazing place to learn new skills and work with the latest technologies International opportunities

    Cons

'Green' junior management - insufficient separation at the lower levels between managers and managees In some teams, there's a separation between consultants and analysts - can be frustrating when in reality consultants act more like 'account managers' Known to encourage ridiculous hours of work

  2. "Indecisive and bully culture from the top down"

    I worked at Quantium full-time

    Pros

    Free breakie, juice, coffee, softdrinks

    Cons

Muddled company with a blame culture and very little coaching or effective collaboration. Bullying coming from the top down and part of the overall culture which is difficult to eradicate

"An organisation with talented people and ambitious growth targets, but lacking a well-defined purpose"

I worked at Quantium full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people: I have found the culture at Quantium to be difficult to match elsewhere - you will for the most part be working with intelligent, ambitious and personable colleagues who will push you to be better both professionally and personally. Graduate program: Quantium invests heavily into its graduate program, with many of the top employees at Senior and Lead level having come through the graduate program. As a graduate, you will get the opportunity to take the lead on managing projects / business functions that would ordinarily require far greater tenure at other organisations. Opportunities for relocation: Quantium’s rapid expansion into overseas markets, particularly in US / EMEA, means that there are ample opportunities for relocation. This is a further opportunity to accelerate your career trajectory as many of the top performing employees are now based overseas rather than in the head office in Sydney.

    Cons

You will be underpaid: There is no way of getting around this - you will be underpaid relative to what the market has to offer. Yes, money isn’t the be all and end all, but different people have different expectations at different stages of their lives. If remuneration is a top priority then Quantium is most likely not the right organisation for you. You may be ‘left behind’: A highly political resourcing and promotion process means that there is a high risk of you not being adequately recognised for your efforts. While this problem is not unique to Quantium, it is exacerbated somewhat by the pace and growth ambitions of the business. You will find that unless you are either willing to play the game or are extremely fortunate, opportunities to work on the most meaningful and highly sought-after projects will pass you by, which can have a flow-on effect on your morale. A lack of vision and purpose: This was the element I struggled most with during my time at Quantium. What is Quantium’s overall vision? What was the purpose of the work I was doing? Is Quantium a Product or Consulting business? I still don’t know the answer to these questions and I’m not sure that the GE does either. The approach to the above at times seemed to be ‘We are whatever we need to be to get the job done’ - great for meeting short-term revenue objectives, but not so great when it comes to engendering long-term employee motivation or fulfilment. Don’t expect to be coming into work at Quantium with the intention of having a meaningful impact on the world around you, as this will only set you up for disappointment.

I worked at Quantium part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn and flexibility to build your own career A place full of people who you want to work with - Quantium prioritises hiring the right personalities as much as or more than hiring the right skill sets CEO is a clear leaders and communicates his vision as openly as possible Great reputation - people know Quantium as a leader for data analytics in Australia

    Cons

Still a growing companies with some unclear structures (as expected), working part time can leave you a little out of the loop as you are not involved in performance reviews, etc.

    Pros

Interesting work, great calibre of people, access to great technology

    Cons

Always chasing a dollar. Consulting - meaning timesheets. One of the senior leaders difficult to work with. L&D opps for senior leaders are scarce
