Pros

I've met some really great people here that really care about their work, doing it well, and doing it efficiently. Although, they could be more progressive, leadership is forward-looking and hungry for improvements.

Cons

Lack of employee parking options. Very limited time off. They force non-clinical personnel to use PTO hours for holidays which cuts down your available PTO. No work from home options.

Pros

The cafeteria serves healthy and delicious food. Beautiful campus.

Cons

With the hospital mergers brought about changes no one thought of. Many people left due to the political environment. The higher ups like to play favorites. They keep a close eye on people so they can initiate firings. With the lack of training, the staff expects the world of their workers. However, when they don't live up to the expectations they get upset and start to point fingers at their staff. Many of the older staff members don't have anywhere to go. So they stay at a dead end job. They face problems they cannot solve by themselves.

Not as good as they think they are

Pros

Compensation is fair, one of the few places that offers a pension

Cons

Beneath the veneer is an outdated health care system that is not nearly as good as they think they are. Leaders are those who have been there the longest, not the ones most qualified to lead. This is the biggest issue. High quality people join then leave because they realize they cannot affect positive change in an environment that does not recognize or reward great work. People who want to help Queens get better are not welcomed. Processes are so antiquated that it affects the quality of care. Employee morale is low.
