Pros

Zero, nilch, nada - Used to have free lunch- they cut that out too!

Cons

The CEO is clue less. Goes from one management fad to another. A leader who, by his smugness, reduces the talents of all his management. Always the smartest guy in the room. Recently fired the whole management team who got him recognition and unprecedented sales growth. The new management team is fostering a culture of decline. Don't be fooled by the good reviews - They are coerced by HR.

Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. Your passion is clear, and we don’t want you to leave the company. There’s no question our CEO is open to trying new things. Our biggest periods of growth have been created by a willingness to experiment, a part of our DNA that extends to our employees doing great work. But when something doesn’t work after being given time to prove itself, the best business decision is to end it. As you may have heard in the recent town hall, we have just ended a few programs that were not producing the results we had hoped. We’re happy to hear you say that RAB has been a great place to work. One thing you’ll never see is RAB failing to look for new ways to do things and new markets to enter within our industry. Sometimes we’ll fail, but we’ve got to evolve to be as successful as we want to be, and we’re looking forward to you and your teammates seeing that progress.

Moral has gone away

Pros

Not many any more. Used to have a free lunch daily which was unbelievable. But now has diminished to just Pizza on Fridays.

Cons

Middle management is false. - Feels click-y, and playing favorites. Deceitful. They are full of false promises. There is no cross training, so there is no way you can learn another position. They seek to hire from the outside instead of promoting within. A lot of good honest people have been let go, (60% of engineering staff) plus some from lighting design and some others, leaving the rest to be looking elsewhere for employment, while holding onto a once pretty decent place to work. Everyone here smiles like they are ok with it. That is false too. Moral has drastically hit the dirt.

Overall sad and fast decline of company, product and office morale

Pros

Good location for commuting Rockland and Bergen

Cons

All long time senior management has been let go ( along with 100+ others). Inexperienced and immature management in some departments run the department like a high school click. Absolutely no consistency in " company policy " blatant favoritism shown to those in the click. Poor management is the number 1 cause of constant unrest and overall miserable mood in the office. Used to be a great place to work now it's like a morgue. As far as product quality once not so long ago you bought RAB because it was the best. Now it's hit or miss. Components from China are sub par, product being manufactured in China have constant quality issues and stock has become a issue. Loyalty to the company has disappeared from the distributors right down the line to the employees.

Thank you for taking the time to write this post. Your comments are concerning to us given that we always want to ensure that all our people are treated fairly and with respect. I can't reach out to you due to the anonymous nature of Glassdoor, but you can email me. I’d love to hear from you on some the issues you refer to. Some of the issues you bring up I can address here. There’s no question we are in a time of change, as are others in our industry. We’ve made some recent decisions on positions that impacted good people and had some departures on our management team, but the magnitude is much smaller than stated in your review. Overall turnover remains low, and we’re happy that people are sticking with us (a sign of dedicated employees) as we work through this time of change. Like any manufacturer, quality issues can arise from time to time but when they do, we always take a deep dive to understand what went wrong and how to fix it – and work with our supply chain partners to do so. Our customers value the way that RAB stands by its products (industry-leading warranty) and will resolve problems for them quickly. We’re happy to hear you say that RAB has been a great place to work and we don't want you to leave. We’ve already made moves to maximize our future success. Change will continue to impact us and one thing we never want to do is stand still in an evolving industry. We won’t be perfect in this transition, but we’re confident you and your teammates are going to see positive results in the months ahead.
