A decent starting ground, but not a long-term place to grow
Pros
Worked with big name brands in the tech space Allows for some level of creativity in terms of content scope During my time, there were a few great colleagues who supported me, but who've since left and thrived
Cons
Horrible work-life balance. Was expected to stay late (up to 12AM) in some situations when working on the magazine. More often than you'd expect. Shifting expectations in "job scope"; from a writer, turned to a pack mule carrying things for their events team, tech support to fix colleagues computers or office hardware, to even a unpaid (unappreciated) stint as a helping hand on a weekend during a company hosted event. Expected to work weekends and was told "It's not a lot, just something to add to the site, doesn't take a long time". Still, egregious to even ask. People need to completely disconnect on the weekends at the very least.
