Mixed feelings, a roller coaster experience.

Pros

It is a great stepping stone if you are willing to work hard. It is interesting and hands on and every day is quite different. There are friendly people here and there is flexibility with hours (depends on your manager though). You get a free subscription and the location is good. The offices are open plan and there is a coffee shop downstairs. Pay is consistent with market levels. You get your birthday off.

Cons

Each department has a different goal which causes conflict between departments and their directors. There is too much time spent arguing when we could be working together. Some people have worked here far too long which is now having a negative effect on the company. There are many negative people who bring the positive ones down and there haven't been pay rises for a few years. HR is unapproachable.

Reader's Digest Australia - don't bother

Pros

It's across the road from a great shopping centre.

Cons

No opportunity for career advancement. Redundancies happen very regularly. Pay rises never happen. Staff morale is incredibly low. This company is shrinking, not growing. I wouldn't recommend working there to anyone.
