Pros

None - just avoid there are better storage companies out there

Cons

Worked for this company for a year and it was absolutely atrocious. Small storage operation with seemingly no growth plans - 23 stores up and down the country with 3 of them in Leeds, 2 in Manchester and 2 in Great Yarmouth. So when you freak it down they actually don't have that many store locations across the UK and don't seem interested in opening stores in prime affluent locations where the big guys like Lok N Store, Big Yellow, Shurgard are based. Pretty much every time you get to speak to a customer who has enquired, Ready Steady Store would be £10-£20 more a week on most sizes of storage units meaning the customer would just go with a competitor (usually Shurgard, Big Yellow, Lok N Store). The management give you discount tools but they still don't bring the price down to a level needed to win the business. Management tell you to ring them or message them ASAP if you have offered a discount but the price is still over what the competitors are offering, claiming they will price match, however when you call or contact the managamemt you don't get a response for 3-5 working days, sometimes 7-8 working days! By which time the customer has already gone with a competitor! Their phone systems and CRM crashes constantly meaning you are hampered doing your own job due to constantly being thrown off the phones or CRM. This was a problem for the whole time I worked there and the management just make feeble excuses or brush it under the carpet to hide the fact that they and the IT people don't know how to sort it out, and they don't want the Directors or Operations Managers to find out. Managamemt use the sales team as a smoke screen to deflect any criticism or microscope on them from CEO / Director level - due to their lack of store locations and poor pricing strategy, the sales people at the company are left struggling to hit unrealistic targets with a very low number of fresh enquiries and poor quality enquiries at that, they hire and fire sales people and store managers. In summary you will be expected to work weekends and evenings and to cover people pulling sickies on a regular basis, you will be asked to cover at short noticed and made to feel bad if you say no. Awful company.

Pros

Fuel allowance for travelling and that is about it.

Cons

Shockingly bad place to work. I applied based on reviews I saw online but apparently they were all lies. I had to drive 40 miles each way to cover the nottingham store on numerous occaisions despite working in Stoke on Trent. Poorly looked after sites, terrible management and even corrupt staff members at some of the sites.
