Great company, low pay for Lead Agents

      Pros

Supportive and positive company culture. Everyone is nice, no matter who you talk to (HR, fellow agents, transaction coordinators, IT). Redfin hires excellent people. Health benefits are great.

      Cons

Literally, the only flaw is their compensation. The pay is not commensurate with the level of work for buyer agents. While customers are handed to you and no lead-generation is required, your pay for that transaction is miniscule. The only way to make a decent income is by doing a lot of volume and letting support staff handle everything possible. That model doesn't work if you are a hands-on agent or for certain buyers who only want to work with one person. It seems like buyer agents take the financial hit so Redfin can offer sellers low listing rates.

      Actions speak louder than words

      Pros

The people on the ground level are incredible humans! They are fun, hard working, real and all around amazing The insurance is great and the office is fun to go to when it's open They are great at giving you chances to take on roles you may not be fully qualified for. They believe in their people. At least if you get a good manager this is true.

      Cons

High up leaders know how to say all of the right things, but their actions don't always line up. With the exception of the Associate Agent role (which isn't an employee role) it's not uncommon to be completely run into the ground on a constant basis. It's absolutely exhausting and even though you will be told to take care of yourself the system isn't set up to make it possible. Churn and burn may be the motto for the employee side of things. While the benefits are great even for families the pay is low especially for the amount of work.

      Great company with great opportunities

      3 Jun 2021 - Market Manager

      Pros

Forward thinking company who is semi-nimble at making changes to adapt to crazy market condition. Opportunities for growth with the many subsidiary businesses.

      Cons

Leadership has extra layers which makes face time with execs seemingly impossible (lack of visibility). Manager training is exclusive to sales and not about the hundreds of other topics where managers need help.

      Pros

Clients are fed to you. Clients say they like how easy and convenient it is to schedule around redfin and they can see places around their schedule.

      Cons

Well can’t be helped sometimes it’s not that busy and you have no showings but there are times when you get more as well. Depends on area.

Great place to work if you want to be a full time agent!

      Pros

Company culture is awesome. The CEO genuinely seems to care, management is really supportive and lovely to work for. If you want to get into real estate, or are a struggling newer agent, Redfin is probably the right choice. You're not going to find a base salary (albeit small) and great (or even good) benefits working as a 1099. Redfin appreciates employees who take interest in improving the company and listens to ideas. There is a lot of room for upward mobility here.

      Cons

Hours can be a struggle. With a toddler and a couple small businesses, it was too much for me to juggle.

      Great people. Disconnected leaders

      Pros

The people at Redfin are amazing! They are fun, hard working, and caring. Redfin is great at giving people opportunities to grow and try new roles. The CEO is very caring and real

      Cons

The execs are disconnected from reality. Years ago Redfin really was all about customers, but since going public it's really more about the money even though the execs will never admit that.

Unethical - They don’t desire to do what’s best for the customer. They just want contracts closed no matter what.
