Pros

Freedom to do whatever including coming in late, good salary, direct contact with CEO and GMs, “fun” work events (birthday celebrations that mask what is tension and anxiety in the office)

Cons

Morally demoralizing, no career progression, poor leadership, lots of firing (3/4th round of layoffs recently). Leadership will say lies to try to keep morale up when the ship is sinking.

Pros

-Unique projects that actually make a difference to the food distribution industry -Intelligent peers who challenge you on the quality and nature of work -Freedom to try new approaches and lead parts of the design process -Multiple projects finished in shorter spans of time (8-12 weeks) with the potential to hire outside partners for further development -Space to explore what you're passionate about in the design world, besides just projects assigned -Great benefits and flexibility granted around work hours

Cons

-Supposedly flat as an organization but not so in practice -Leadership does not empathize and acts in their self-interest all the time -Leadership lacks heavily in management experience, which impairs their decision making abilities. They are extremely unprofessional in employee handling. -Gossip culture along with a tendency to play favorites -Despite playing as strategic wing to the parent company most of the projects are reactive, not proactive -Lack of ownership and passion present within all levels and departments -Work is never recognized or appreciated, which can be problematic over a longer time span. If nothing is recognized, employees fall into a "why even bother" mindset.

Great learning opportunity

Pros

Great opportunity to learn about and make an impact in the restaurant industry Lots of chances to 'wear many hats' and grow in different parts of the design process (research, analysis, concept development, execution, UX, visual design, usability testing, etc.) Small team that is fun and energetic, and genuinely likes to spend time together Opportunities to learn about entrepreneurship through our Food Foundry program Great work/life balance– but also still challenging and exciting work!

Cons

Since Relish is a young organization, there is a lot of ambiguity (around personal performance, company growth/goals, projects). However the team plays an important role and has a strong voice in crafting the company because of the ambiguity Culture isn't always great, but there are lots of opportunities to get to know your fellow colleagues and leadership prioritizes culture (pre-covid we have a lot of team lunches, happy hours, outings)
