Pros

The positive aspect was the working hours, which were officially 9 to 5. Unfortunately, frequent overtime quickly ruined this and made the schedule far less reasonable in reality.

Cons

My experience with Renaissance Tours was appalling, and the main reason was the boss. The leadership style can only be described as abusive. Daily mood swings were taken out on employees, creating a toxic atmosphere driven by fear and humiliation. Staff were constantly talked down to and treated like children rather than professionals. The boss’s behaviour was monstrous — intimidating, disrespectful, and emotionally draining. There was no support, no trust, and no basic human decency in the way employees were treated. On top of this, the pay was low, there were no opportunities for career growth, and a significant amount of overtime was expected without proper compensation. Overall, this is a deeply unhealthy workplace that I would strongly advise others to avoid.

Pros

Met some people who I still call my friends. Working here gave me great knowledge of what I do not want out of a working environment or boss.

Cons

No HR department or else these guys would probably be in jail. Given that the CEO has a background in 'behavioral psych' it's no surprise that this company manipulates its employees. David and Ted are awful leaders. Don't think for a second that all of these great reviews weren't a result of them telling their employees that they HAD to write them or else.

Pros

they give decent medical and dental benefits, but not much else besides. there is honestly very little good to say about this company.

Cons

job expectations were unclear, with little to no feedback on improvement for growth. the owner typically makes grand claims as to the greatness of the company, when really everything about it is subpar. websites developed by renaissance are usually unusable and ugly. creativity is discouraged in favor of a sense of robotic work ethic. wages are kept low, and raises are largely nonexistent. the owner bemoans the need for HR, knowing that his frequent threats of violence towards competitors and past employees, and callous attitude towards current employees, not to mention his sexist and racist remarks, would be grounds for reproach, at best. no pto, sick leave, or set holidays beyond what the owner deems necessary, plus long work hours and an unreasonable expectation to stay late despite lack of overtime pay. overall, it's a miserable place to work that operates on fear and misplaced values.
