Pros

Nice people, very open to hearing everyone. Very willing to try new things which is refreshing. Very flexible. Hours are reasonable. Benefits are meh but the pay is okay.

Cons

I didn't know it was a super religious company going in or I would have declined the offer. It wasn't mentioned in the interview. Praying during meetings is definitely weird in 2023 but I was willing to look past it if everything else worked out because it's not a huge deal. Just weird... When you couple that with the HIGHLY dysfunctional windows dev team though it quickly becomes a strong pass. I wouldn't recommend any level of windows developer for this company while the windows team is in its current state. The windows code is hard to look at without cringing. SOLID design principles were rarely followed when designing the windows application. Concrete dependencies are everywhere though we did our best to remove what we could. Inverted dependency relationships are common in projects. Nested inline functions are EVERYWHERE and functions that are 200+ lines for absolutely no reason are common. The list goes on. The worst part though is when you try and make the slightest improvements it's often met with resistance from other less experienced team members who somehow have seniority. It doesn't matter how many people believe it's the right choice or their level of expertise. A person can only deal with that so much before burning out. I made it a single year.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely glad to hear that you found our culture open, flexible, and willing to try new things—that’s something we take pride in. We also appreciate your candid feedback on areas where we fell short for you, especially regarding your experience on the Windows development team. While it’s hard to hear, feedback like this helps us improve. We’ve already begun making structural and leadership changes on that team, and we’re actively working to improve our development practices and peer collaboration across all platforms. Regarding your comments about our company’s faith-based culture—we understand that this aspect of our identity may not be a fit for everyone. A few things have shifted here, and while we aren't shy about serving the church (as that is most of our customers), we do want to be a place where others feel comfortable. We’ll take your feedback to heart and look at how we can better communicate our values during the interview process so that candidates can make an informed decision.

Pros

The only positive thing I gained from working at Renewed Vision was understanding how exactly NOT to manage your employees.

Cons

Renewed Vision is hands down the worst company I have ever worked for. Dev management is terribly incompetent. Meetings often consisted of leads openly berating team members in front of the entire team. Sprint retrospectives we’re entirely focused on bashing devs who didn’t finish their work. There were more 1-2am nights than I can remember, yet there was never any thought into how things could be improved. The leadership failed to ever look at themselves introspectively. When devs would make mistakes, they would be openly yelled at throughout the office instead of taking the time to understand what happened and taking actions to fix it. Honestly, this entire company is run like a middle school social hierarchy. I’m so grateful to no longer work here, this company sucked the life out of me for my entire tenure here.

We’re really sorry to hear this was your experience. No one should feel berated, dismissed, or worn down at work—and if that’s what you experienced, then we failed you. Since that time, our team, our leadership structure, and our values have changed significantly. We’ve put a stronger focus on healthy communication, psychological safety, and real accountability—not just for individuals, but for how we lead, plan, and support one another. We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to creating a culture where people feel respected, heard, and able to grow. It’s clear your time here was painful, and for that, we’re truly sorry. We appreciate you sharing your perspective and hope that wherever you are now, you’re in a place that values you well.

Pros

The folks actually doing the work are honest and very hard working

Cons

The leadership team is completly dishonest and lack communication. There is one guy who will make all the decisions regardless of what anyone else thinks. He believes he does everything correct but one can quickly see that this is not the case when you attend a meeting with him. Sprint planning - There was never any planning. This meeting was to talk about what happened during the sprint. Sprint retro - Wants to attend to hear what others would say about him Sprint Review - Always gave false expectations. Communication was one of the worst I have experienced. Leadership made decisions and would communicate it last minute. They also once told me that it was not good that I would always praise my team. Who does that? My reviews were always positive from management but then I was suddenly let go and thier explaination was that they warned me many times about my performance which they know was very dishonest.

Thank you for sharing your experience—even though it’s from a few years ago, we take this feedback seriously. We’re truly sorry to hear that your time with us left you feeling disrespected or unheard. That’s not the kind of environment we strive for, and while we can’t rewrite the past, we can—and have—taken steps to build a better future. In the time since your departure, our company has undergone significant change. We’ve restructured parts of our leadership, redefined our core values to reflect transparency, humility, and team empowerment, and invested in more thoughtful planning and communication rhythms. We know trust is earned through actions, not words—and we’re committed to doing that work.
