Toxic Environment

Pros

Agree with every review about the toxic environment at this company. Unfortunately, I did not know about this great platform before I applied and got to this company. As I would think twice after reading all of the reviews. 1)Leadership has formed a clique that plays favorites, protecting each other at all costs. Mistakes by their friends are covered up by blaming lower-level employees. They don't care about anyone outside their circle, disrespecting even clients and residents. 2)The workload is overwhelming, with no work-life balance. If you're not a favorite, you'll end up doing tasks that aren't even part of your job. The people that management supports tend to give away their own tasks to you. You will not be able to say anything, and if any task is not completed, they'll fire you. 3)Things got worse when the owner left, giving control to a VP. 4)Promotions are hidden and reserved for friends of the circle. They never post director positions online, blocking existing property managers from applying or even external candidates for fair competition or even just to pretend that there is a fair competition. They so in to themselves that openly promote their favourites without posting anything. It's a place that thrives on negativity, exclusion, and unfair work practices.

Cons

The pay is good, but currently, it's average in the market. They advertise a 20% bonus, but it's heavily taxed, and if you're not in the inner circle, you'll see a much smaller percentage-if you get a bonus at all.

Pay you well no have no life outside of work

Pros

The compensation is adequate but pay is hourly for 98% of site staff.

Cons

The fake it til you make it culture is strong. There is little to no support for staff who are overworked. Things change weekly in terms of new technology and crm updates. There is so much staff turnover, that the tenants are upset and confused much of the time. The bottom line is to make money... which leaves the staff with numerous reports but no time for the actual humans who live there.

Pros

The people were friendly in general.

Cons

Your manager will make the difference - I find there needs to be a big change in leadership, or turnover will be high. I can only see more and more people leaving over time. Not progressive Fake it until you make it culture - the value of your work does not determine whether you will get a promotion or not. Optics is the only thing that seems to matter, which is quite strange. Pay is below market rate - way below. Empty promises is very popular here. They leased a larger space because they want to enforce everyone to come into the office 5 days/wk so people have enough room with regards to social distancing. Nobody wants to be in the office 5 days per week...yet, management did not care. This is not a company I would recommend if you want to progress and if you are genuine.
