Pros

Free lunch every day. The food is very good because the head chef is very good. That said - it gets tiresome rather quickly Relaxed work environment

Cons

Organizational structure is completely non-existent. Ripe is more or less a one-man-show led by an unscrupulous CEO and his compliant business partner. Nobody at this company - including upper management - has the education or business acumen to run a business of this type. They have kept themselves afloat by flouting the law and by taking advantage of well-meaning employees lured in by empty promises. Before, during and after my tenure at Ripe, nearly every single core team member left the company for this very reason. I don't expect they will be around much longer - but while they are I urge you to steer well clear.

Pros

Not able to provide any.

Cons

This truly is a company ran by cynical people with zero morals and no clue how to legally run a business. Investing your time into Ripe will only take a stressful toll on you and can undoubtedly steer you away from your personal goals and ambition. They have not had a consistent full team last longer than 1 year since the time they’ve opened and it’s no coincidence. Threatening employees with law enforcement at any given moment, disorganized work structure, staff getting paid under the books, and a terrible hierarchical system are only minor disadvantages of this company. Ben Huffman, Ripe’s CEO, is the epitome of don’t throw stones if you live in a glass home, taking many of his past employees to court for personal gain, ego, spite, and privilege while he initiates even more heinous acts. Working with the individuals at this company will be a constant battle if you are simply an ethical being, as sweeping their problems under the rug and making others pay for their mistakes are the base of their foundation. They care more about keeping a good image rather than being actual good people, and have even gone as far as writing their own positive reviews on Glassdoor to make themselves look better than they really are. Be very mindful before getting involved with this company, it can easily become the worse decision you’ve made all year.

Pros

The only benefit to working here is the free food you get on a daily.

Cons

I warn ESPECIALLY women and people of color to steer clear of this organization. If you aren't one of the 'Bros' the CEO and now President, will make you feel as uncomfortable as possible to get you to quit. They lack professionalism and are criminals who take advantage of those who are gullible enough to believe they want you to do well. There is no ladder to grow in the company. I know they even will go out of their way to tarnish former employees' careers in order to 'teach a lesson' for leaving their company. Furthermore, I've seen women's safety extremely compromised, women assaulted on their premises, and black and brown people held accountable for things that were justly unfair. They overlook people with proper credentials for raises and opportunities, instead they promote their close friends and family around you and do a great job at making you feel worthless. There is no company structure whatsoever. Mistakes are not taken seriously when clients complain. Their employee turnover is immaculate. These sort of practices usually take companies under, especially when you're barely staying afloat as is.
