Working experience and culture of the firm.

Pros

Pros: Will never get fired. When disillusioned colleagues become cancerous, the firm prefers to force the colleagues to voluntary leave allowing them to collect the bond penalty. This creates a cancerous culture of constant management bashing and whining throughout working hours. Good salary increment Increment is high due to low base salary.

Cons

Cons: Low management support. (Disproportionate ratio of managers to associate) Entire firm has only 1 signing partner, 1 manager and 0 assistant managers. Wrong priorities (Cares more about the creation speed of Financial Statements than the quality of the work) Due to only one reviewing partner, quality of reviews are reduced and you might not know what mistakes you have made. Contract terms (Bond and bonus) Bond was recently increased from 2 years to 3 years because everyone wants to leave. In their own words, "They wish for everyone to experience the 3 years to fully understand RMP." There are no bonuses paid to first year staff regardless of the date joined even when the contract states it will be prorated.

Cons

The following is true about the company I have worked with for a year. 1) Low salary compared to other similar firms 2) Bond that is ridiculous and hard to escape 3) No training as promised during the interview 4) No standard in the working papers 5) Minimum benefits, OT requirements, cannot leave on time, No BONUS 6) Malay audit partner cannot speak and express himself properly.

Pros

You will not get fired as the company will earn the fine from you if you resign yourself before the contract finish.

Cons

Need to be extra conscious with their contract (2-3 years) as there could be some fault promising (eg. training, staff benefit, increment, bonus etc). The staff benefits will be kept to the minimum. If you are not happy and want to leave, you will need to pay for the penalties. This is a family business so you won't have much support from HR department.
